My goodness! How could this happened? An elderly 78 year old Sino-Kadazan woman lost her MyKad to a pickpocket while shopping at a Hypermarket in Penampang last year. Mdm. Yong Lee Hua @ Piang Lin realized her purse was missing when she was about to pay for her groceries at the counter. A police report was made on the same day and later went to NRD to apply a replacement for her stolen MyKad. After a few months her card was ready but it was red. At first, she think it was special because the color was different from her chidren. When her children told her that the card was for a Permanent Resident, her joy subside. This means that she has lost her citizenship. Not only that, she also loses access to her Amanah Saham National and Alliance Bank account. They went to the NRD for an explanation but they were given an "Unbelievable, illogical explanation"! According to NRD, they will only issue Permanent Resident card (MyPR) to elderly applicant. Shit! Gila punya explanation. How can they give MyPR to a geniune citizen of Malaysia and a MyCard holder? For your information, she was born in Kg. Mahandoi Penampang, got Native Certificate issued by Native Court back in 1963, speaks fluent Malay and Kadazan, and owns a native title land. YB Donald is assisting her right now while Tan Sri Dompok promised to discuss this matter with Hamid Albar.
Now because of that, she couldn't renew her passport. Even her data is no longer available from the Immigration Department system. She is supposed to go to Indonesia with her church member but has to forget about it since she cannot renew her passport.
Something is really wrong with the system here. Those who entered Sabah illegally, holding a red I.C can easily obtain genuine MyCard. I heard some of them has already sneaked into the Public Service workforce and hold a high ranking position. Even some of the Sabah YBs are said to be a red I.C holder but was given MyCard through indecent mean. Bukan bikin panas kaitu? The genuine people of Sabah are slowly being stripped off of our right in our own land. Who is going to help us if not us ourselves... We need to wake up, work together and fight for our right!!!

Kurang ajar juga Jabatan Pendaftaran tu... buli2 urang kadazan kana buat macam tu... pukimbet diorang, tu pelarian yg dulu pakai IMM13 pula yg senang2 kena bagi MyPR, itu bugis2 pula senang2 diorang kc IC mykad lagi tu... tapi yg ini diorang pandai2 kasih tukar urang kita pi jadi penduduk tetap, sial betul..... emmm jadi tu aunty macam mana sekarang? sebab klaau tu JPN sudah kasih isu kan payah betul tu mau tukar, tapi harp2 penglibatan orang politik kita mampun memperbaiki keadaan .... kes sekarang yg JPN inda buli kasih tukar kalau ic sudah isu kan tu nombor ic kita, kalau biasanya nombor ganjil dibelakang untuk lelaki kan, tapi banyak ni kami jumpa yg nombor genap tapi lelaki, bila siorang suruh diornag p check sana JPN, senang2 saja diorang bilang kalau itu dikasih, itulah korang guna diorang bilang.... siallllll

This is a sad case happened to the genuine people of Sabah. While illegal immigrants easily obtain MyKad, the genuine one seems have to fight for their own rights that unjustly being eroded by incompetent government agencies. Political parties notably PBS, UPKO and PKR has urged the government that a Sabahan must head NRD and Immigration branches in Sabah because as a Sabahan, they know better what is the actual problem faced by Sabah nowadays. I agree to that suggestion but THE SABAHAN appointed to head those department must be a TRULY, GENUINE SABAHAN.. bukan "sabahan" yang main beli IC tu hari tu wakakaka

Reno : itu yang ditakuti tu. Klu "bekas PTI" pula yg memegang jawatan tu, lagi teruklah kejadian kita orang Sabah ni.. Itulah pasal mesti dipastikan betul2 org yg head tu 2 department misti orang Sabah yang genuine..
Klu smpi saat ini blm ada kejadian luar biasa ko alami, sya rasa teda masalah tu IC ko yg hilang tu... :D

Lab Papa, get ready for more shocking news.. nampaknya ini bukan kes yg pertama yang menunjukkan kelemahan JPN di Sabah. Ada dua kes lagi yang dihighlight dalam Borneo Post. Bukan psl penurunan taraf status penduduk tapi kegagalan JPN memperakui taraf kewarganegaraan kepada penduduk Sabah yang bekerja di luar Sabah pada tahun 50an. Bila balik Sabah in 60s and apply for Malaysian IC kana reject pula. Will blog about it later.. :D
